Military Service (1991-1994)
Active duty in the United States Navy, stationed at Naval Hospital San Diego. There he served as staff cardiologist and director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Ground-breaking procedures such as coronary stenting, mitral valvuloplasty, intravascular ultrasound, and ventriclar tachycardia catheter ablation were introduced to the Naval Hospital under his direction. He was Honorably Discharged from the Navy in 1994.
