Welcome to Merrimack Valley Cardiology!  We are the largest group of Cardiology specialists in the area and are based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts providing our expertise since 1976.  It is our goal to perform high quality evaluation and management of heart disease in a professional and caring way.

Our eleven physicians all practice Clinical Cardiology but most subspecialize in areas such as Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, imaging techniques such as Nuclear Cardiology, Echo or CT Angiography in addition to specific issues such as Coronary Disease, Cholesterol disorders and Heart Failure.

Our main office is in Chelmsford, but we have also have offices at Harvard Vanguard in Chelmsford, MA as well as a satellite office at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, Massachusetts. Our Echo lab (Cardiac ultrasound) is the only in the area to be nationally accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiographic Laboratories, as is our Nuclear Cardiology stress testing lab which is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories. Our office staff has expertise in pacemaker and defibrillator management, cardiovascular imaging and anticoagulation monitoring.  In addition we have specialty clinics for the management of High Blood Pressure, Heart Failure and Anticoagulation.

A great deal of our time is spent on inpatient management of cardiac problems such as heart attack, angina and other chest pains, heart failure, and rhythm disorders. We perform a large number of angioplasty/stent procedures, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, peripheral vascular interventions and electrophysiology studies.  MVC is busy at 5 hospitals; Lowell General, Saints Medical Center in Lowell, Lahey Clinic in Burlington, University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester and the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. In addition we have developed long-standing relationships with all of the major hospitals in Boston to quickly make referrals when needed in order to provide our patients with the best  possible care.

Because of our desire to provide the most up to date cardiovascular service, we do not provide Primary Care and prefer to work in conjunction with your physician as consultants.
